Mission & Outreach Committee

(Excerpted from 2009 Annual Report)

Local Mission:

This year there was increased need for basic services in difficult economic situations.  Our committee looked for ways to help organizations providing food and shelter.  We took the bold step of recommending to Session that our church sponsor a Habitat for Humanity house and increase funding to Rebuilding Together which repairs homes.  This was approved and made possible by funding from the Ruth Halberg estate.

Local mission activities:

  • One week of preparing meals at the Sleeping Room at Christian Ministries.
  • Passing out groceries at the Salvation Army and Christian Ministries food pantries.
