Charles William Yeo, 93

MUNCIE - Charles William Yeo, 93, died Monday
afternoon, April 19, 2010 at his residence.

He was born April 9, 1917 in Muncie the son of
Harry and Elizabeth (Shackleton) Yeo.

He graduated from Muncie Central High School in
1935 and received his Bachelor's Degree from
DePauw University in Greencastle.

Mr. Yeo was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during WW
II serving in the South Pacific.

Charles was employed at Indiana Steel and Wire
Company, Moore Company, and Warner Gear (now
Borg-Warner) as a personnel manager for twenty-
nine years prior to his retirement in 1983.

He was a member of Muncie Exchange Club for over
fifty years. Charles also was a member of Muncie
Lodge #433 F. & A.M., Muncie Bible Students, Beta
Theta Pi Fraternity, and Personnel Association. He
was on the YMCA Board, United Way Board, Junior
Achievement Board, and the Visiting Nurse
Association Board.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Yeo, Brussels,
Belgium and Richard Yeo, Evanston, IL; three
grandchildren, Christopher, Christine, and Alexa
Yeo; a great-grandson, Noah; a sister, Phoebe Barta,
Nazareth, PA; three nephews; and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife,
Mary Louise Yeo in 2000; a brother, Robert Yeo;
and a nephew.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday,
April 26, 2010 at Elm Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
on Monday, April 26, 2010 at The Meeks Mortuary
and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
