Lent Bible Study
Entering the Passion of Jesus:  A Beginner's Guide to Holy Week by Amy-Jill Levine
lentThis Lent you are invited to participate in this ecumenical study centered on Holy Week. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with five other congregations and pastors in a rich conversation about Christ's entry into Jerusalem through is trial, crucifixion, and burial. Our partners in this journey will include Riverside UMC, Holy Trinity Lutheran, Lutheran Church of the Cross, St. Andrews Presbyterian, and Grace Episcopal. Ecumenical studies like this one give rich opportunities for to share their faith and grow in faith as they learn about how others encounter the texts of Holy Week.
Classes will start on Wednesday, February 24 at 7pm. They will continue for six weeks, ending on March 31. We will gather together via zoom and then break apart into smaller groups for discussion. You can contact the church office to reserve a book. We look forward to journeying together.
 
Advent Study 2020:  Christmas in the Four Gospel Homes
 
4 gospel homesAdvent is here and we would like to invite you to participate in our Advent Study. We are engaging the book Christmas in the Four Gospel Homes by Cynthia Campbell. This four-week study examines the Christmas story through the distinct lens of each of the Gospels. It is through the Christmas story that we will also learn about the Good News that each Gospel works to tell. 
We have two different groups meeting to discuss this book together.
Group 1 meets via Zoom on Sundays at 8:30-9:30 AM. until Sunday Decmeber 20th
Group 2 meets via Zoom on Wednesdays at 10-11 AM. until Wednesday December 23rd

bible study snipYou are invited to join an eight-week study course on some of the basic Christian understandings of theology.  This course ran September 16 - November 4th. You can view the weekly lesson by clicking below.
We are exploring reformed understandings of the Triune God and of our own nature. We look at the church and how we order ourselves and the sacraments we celebrate. Finally, we will finish out our time thinking about the end and end times. The videos of this course are led by Charles M. Horvath, M.Div., Ph.D.
